An Open Letter to the 117th United States Congress:
“Artifice! Artifice! Artifice!” The Precarious Prosecution of Steve Bannon
Dear Congress,
My name is Royce White. I am a citizen of the United States of America. Born and raised resident of Minnesota, the 32nd state of the union. It is with cause for great concern that I write this letter. The condition of this republic has reached critical. The future of democracy hangs in the balance by a thread. I don’t say that for the dramatic effect. I’m not sure if any person or dialogue can change the trajectory of where we’re headed now. In the event there isn’t such a person or dialogue, I will go on the record here, even if only in the interest of the record itself. History is threatened by artifice. We are living in a time where facts are merely a matter of power and manipulation, not the truth. Or maybe it has always been that way and the consequences are now more grave. Although we do not behave as one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all… the grace of our father holds strong. In his wisdom, the righteous are still able to do what must be done in times like these. What can always be done, regardless of how the scales of justice and liberty weigh. We always have the power to bear witness, and so to I shall.
After George Floyd, as a community leader, I organized the largest demonstrations in the city of Minneapolis. They were all intended to be peaceful and for the most part they were. In fact, there wasn’t one fight, fire or injury during any of them. With the one exception being, the time a semi-truck plowed onto the I-35W bridge we were occupying in number greater than 10,000. While many people were frightened that afternoon, no one was physically injured and we were fortunate that no lives were lost. God was with us on that day. Afterward it made me think… what is the real price of civil disobedience? Who was I truly up against as a community leader? The answer was clear. I was up against the gravity of the federal government. It dawned on me then, that peace and violence would always be advantageously defined by The State and thus a real problem for The Free People.
At the end of 2020, I wrote a letter to Governor Tim Walz entitled, “Winter is Coming”. In this letter I told him that elected state officials were in a fight for sovereignty and must find the courage to protect citizens from federal tyranny. I said meaning of community could no longer be undermined by the grandiosity of our federal government. At that time, in our own community, we were forced to confront America’s history of government agencies targeting Black leaders, with rubber stamp from the administrative state. Today we face a similar scope of governance, from an administrative state, casting a much broader net for it’s new target; the truth. Underneath this net, anybody who speaks out against the corruption or contradiction of power may face selective prosecution. This is the epitome of injustice.
Are we living in the Soviet Union? Is America moving toward a Gestapo state and Gulag prison system? The recent indictment of Steve Bannon is a despicable display of judicial misconduct and the signal of a very dark regression. Political interference and bribery are the two most common types of judicial corruption. One is clearly at work here, with the second being more than plausible. This action is a stain on the United States congress and more importantly, it fundamentally undermines the rule of law in spirit. When writing my letter to Governor Walz, I didn’t exactly imagine Steve Bannon as the recipient of said tyranny. But in retrospect why wouldn’t he be? The simulcasting of social divisions such as race, gender, age, republican, democrat, private, public, capitalism, socialism, communism, democracy, autocracy, and now the medical status of being vaccinated or unvaccinated, are all used as a 3-card monte for the overarching desire of authoritarianism. Sought out by many but best implemented by our elites. This is something Bannon has undoubtedly done a great job of articulating. That’s the real reason he now faces the wrath of the United States government and a petulant Congress. Those of you perpetrating this prosecution are disgracing our country.
Are we to believe it’s completely unrelated, when the same American politicians who’ve cow-towed to the tyrant Xi Jingping of the Chinese Communist Party, attempt to imprison the man who mounted an effective campaign against them? Do you all have no shame? Are we the people to be treated as lemmings underneath the Congress we elected? You’re trying to convince us this witch-hunt is in the interest of freedom, when in actuality it is everything but? This isn’t simply Donald Trump’s crew vs. the rest of Washington. Despite the mainstream’s efforts to paint it that way. There is something much more pernicious going on here. The role of our government has taken a dramatic turn without our consent. It’s been happening slowly over decades, but now looks to hasten as it takes queues from the East. The growing threat of China isn’t some crackpot conspiracy that Steve Bannon or Donald Trump made up. We know this by China’s actions and their own admissions. They have not hidden their 2050 initiative, where they plan to essentially become the new East India Trading Company. But for America, the plot is much thicker than a ruling class, opportunistically latching on to the CCP’s vitality. It’s the underlying thread of China’s authoritarianism that American elites are truly infatuated with. When Joe Biden is asked about China, he makes excuses for them. Nancy Pelosi is asked about The Uyghurs and other human rights violations, she says climate change is the overriding issue. We have been foisted in Chinese capitulation. Our government is doing the bidding of a country that places no premium on freedom. Or even worse yet, we’re doing it because we’ve lost the premium on freedom ourselves. Going after Steve Bannon protects the Chinese Communist Party and you all know it.
But of course you know that, because many of you are in on it. A classic bait and switch took place here. Running up our national debt, funding the rise of this Chinese empire and throwing the bill to America’s working class. Ultimately creating a neofeudalist society here at home. This neofeudalist system is just a replica of Xi Jingping’s dictatorship in China, by way of economic lordship. With a thin veil of democracy to cover it up and smooth it over. This is a ponzi scheme. This is a criminal act. Where are the special committees and prosecutions for that? This is why we marched to the Federal Reserve after George Floyd. Yes, The State has a monopoly on violence, that too often renders unacceptable outcomes like George Floyd’s death. However, this monopoly extends well beyond the order of violence. The State has monopolized the American dream. Our government has become a sidecar for the corporatocracy. A paradigm that has been re-enacted throughout the first world. Where many governments carry water for a global corporatocracy through police states and taxes. This is not a function of democracy, international cooperation or progress, this is a function of unadulterated power and the monopoly on freedom. Steve Bannon was marked for retaliation, the day he called millennials the new Russian serfs. Because in America they most certainly are and if they ever figure it out, the jig is up.
Who amongst you can honestly claim to be interested in protecting democracy or freedom? For Christ’s sakes, many of you are all but openly communist and secretly idolize a communist dictator. The interest clearly seems to be maintaining a status quo of elitism. I won’t hear how any of this is about upholding the United States constitution either. Our constitution is subverted by the federal government more with each passing day. As is the case with every authoritarian regime, the first attack on freedom is usually going attacking people’s freedom of speech. The truth and opinion both quickly becomes arbitrarily criminalized. Steve Bannon is not the first, but the latest target in a downhill avalanche of suppression and intimidation. We can look at Julian Assange, who is still being confined on espionage charges that clearly violate our freedom of press rights. Edward Snowden remains in exile under asylum with a similar jacket. We can even go back further to Mummar Gaddafi, who was usurped and publicly executed with the help of Western powers, just 18 months after indicting the United Nations security council for being war profiteers. All of these people have one thing in common, they’re whistleblowers. How does the Whistleblower Act of 1989 not apply to them? This is selective application of the law.
How does Steve Bannon not get afforded freedom of press rights as a radio show host? Do you take the American people for fools? Or are you all so high off power, that you no longer care how your actions look? Maybe you’re convinced the ability to manufacture consent is working so well, the American people can’t tell the difference between villain and hero. Maybe there’s some truth to that, but some of us won’t bend… And we’re the ones you must face before victory. To hear representative Bennie Thompson quote Bannon’s radio clip, “Tomorrow all hell is going to break loose”, as some sort of sure fire indictable statement, is just an absolute mockery of jurisprudence. Any blind person could’ve seen that Jan. 6th was going to yield a massive protest at the nation’s capitol. As a protest organizer, I knew it was about to go down. The disconnection in bureaucratic agencies from the pulse of America, is what left the capitol ill prepared for the events that took place on Jan. 6th. This is by their own admission.
The entire “Insurrection” narrative has been driven by the notion that any grievance or protest on Jan. 6th, was illegitimate to begin with. Or at least that has been implied. Whether it be Donald Trump as a President or the belief that the 2020 election was stolen, dismissal of both boast a profound level of naivety. Donald Trump was a consequence of America. Not just some sub-class of political extremists. No one get’s elected like that… at 60 million people the word extremist is being grossly misused. And the word extremist is being grossly misused, up and down the isle. Trump was a culmination of all the corruption, that could rightfully be placed at the feet of Washington’s career politicians. He was a necessary spearhead, to jar a runaway system that was ripe with negligence and incompetence. We need look no further than the stolen election theory for proof. Whether true or not, why wouldn’t people believe it was possible that an election could be stolen? Just 4 years earlier, Democrats claimed that Russia had tampered with the election when Donald Trump won. Then commissioned the liberal media to push that story. Did that have no bearing on the events that took place Jan. 6th? Even today, how sure are we that our elections are secure? As a voter, I certainly don’t have the greatest confidence in their overall integrity. That doesn’t make me a conspiracy theorist.
Furthermore there is a very simple litmus test regarding Jan. 6th. Ask yourselves, what set of circumstances would warrant a hostile demonstration at the capitol? Or better yet, what set of circumstances would warrant a hostile revolt from people towards yourself? Would the belief that an American election, was subverted by political corruption, not make that list? Isn’t equanimity from people around such a matter, a much bigger issue than the alternative? If there’s no set of circumstances that would theoretically warrant your participation in a hostile revolt, or justify people revolting against you personally, then you’re not a defender of democracy. You’re just a coward. This in fact has become the modus operandi of many elites and elected officials, who see no real consequences for their actions, because they don’t believe in their own culpability. Individuals who don’t see themselves as having the capacity to manifest corruption or even any wrongdoing for that matter. This is the root of how America has gone off the rails. This is why so many of you have jumped on to China’s bandwagon. Again, the pacification of China’s crimes isn’t simply an economic quid pro quo. It’s the authority that you truly covet. In that supreme authority, no grievance of the people, ever sees the elites endangered by the people. Because in that position, your aren’t beholden to the electorate… instead you’re beholden to the position itself and those with similar positions, who can insulate you in a consolidation of power. Sort of like the desire to federally mandate vaccines that have no liability protection for the people. That isn’t a how a democracy or republic works. That mentality is right on course with political prosecutions. Artifice!
Let’s just cut straight to the chase… What if thousands of Black people had stormed the nation’s capitol on Jan. 6th? Let’s just say out of anger for the system of “White supremacy” that many of you agree exists? Would every Black leader who criticized the federal government be called before congress? Implicated as a provocateur of insurrection? Or would it only be the Black leaders of significant consequence? In that hypothetical scenario, would the Bennie Thompson’s of the world be outside with the dissidents or inside with the elites? I have a personal problem with the weaponization of race as a buffer for state censorship and political imprisonment. And that’s exactly what some of you have tried to do here. Instituting political courts, based on the claim that none of us should really care because Donald Trump, Steve Bannon and all the deplorables are “White supremacists”. I don’t buy that for one second and even more, I don’t believe when you’re done with them, you won’t come for me next. We’ve seen this play before.
Remember, you came for us first. And contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t because the color of our skin, but the content of our character. We are the Malcom X’s, Martin Luther King’s and Fred Hampton’s, that you conspired to assassinate or murder in the cover of night. The eyes of Black men in America have begun to adjust to this color game and we will stand with the Steve Bannon’s of the world, just as we did for George Floyd. There is a new breed of Black populists that see the unjust imprisonment of Bannon and others as no different than the imprisonment of ourselves. What source of freedom is it to live in a country where the truth, or even thought, becomes the next reason to incarcerate people. This unjust action against Bannon or any others serves as a stark warning, like the passover tradition of our Jewish brothers and sisters. Only instead of fleeing before the bread rises, we must rise up ahead of it and rally against Egypt. For there is nowhere left for us to flee to.
A cautionary tale for all the Free People of America. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the prosecution of Steve Bannon is an attack on Donald Trump or White supremacy… it’s not… this is an attack on opposition. If we allow this type of government practice to continue, there is a near future where any and all opposition will be rounded up and carted off to “reeducation” camps. Brought to you in part by Xi Xingping and the Chinese Communist Party. Authoritarianism is on the rise, it is radical and if unchecked it will run roughshod right over us. It has already begun with vaccine mandates and now these selective prosecutions. The separation between ourselves and China is only a degree apart. We must hold onto justice! We must hold onto Freedom! Steve Bannon is a truth teller and American hero. The elites want him silenced, because they’re threatened by his effectiveness to illuminate the economic malfeasance in this country. This is why millions of people are leaving the workforce. They know the game has been rigged. Artifice!

P.S. If Steve Bannon is convicted on these bogus charges, we will be activating a fully equipped demonstration at whatever facility he is being held at. The Free People do not have to suffer the tyranny of any corrupt judicial court or political party here in America. This country belongs to the people and your time is up. We protested for George Floyd and we would be hypocrites not to act now, against this out of control police state that once again is on display in the case of Steve Bannon. The 2nd amendment is the only thing stopping us from becoming China. The fights that are worth fighting must continue to be fought.
